We have worked with over 170 projects across 6 continents. Because of our reputation, many schemes come directly to us, others we source for clients - but none will be offered as part of a CarbonNeutral programme unless they meet clear quality standards like the Gold Standard.

|
'Carbon offset projects' is a useful but sometimes misleading shorthand because it contains a sense that the projects have no value in themselves - and that's not the case. Individuals and businesses can pay to 'offset' or compensate for their emissions on a tonne by tonne basis. For every one tonne, money is paid to projects to reduce one tonne CO2 and it is that money which helps make the project viable in the first place. It's through 'carbon finance' that new, low carbon technologies can really get established in countries that need them.

Project Types
We work primarily with the following types of projects:
| Renewables |
including solar, hydro and wind as well as biomass and re-use of products like biogas. |
| Resource Conservation |
including energy efficiency, methane recovery and low carbon fuel switches. |
| Waste reduction |
incuding methane flaring to reduce the potency of the gas. |
| Forestry |
well-managed, long-term forestry which make a real contribution to local communities and biodiversity. |
