We are the only carbon offset provider to operate a publically accessible carbon transaction registry.  We believe this will help to push the boundaries on transparency across the industry:

• we record the details carbon offset projects we’re involved in - including Project Design Documents (PDD's), Validation and Verification Reports and certification standard
• we record any projects which are at risk ie those where monitoring reviews have identified significant issues to be resolved, and where are are likely to have allocated carbon from other sources to make up any potential shortfalls.

Alongside the Registry, we are also participating as a key stakeholder in the development of the Voluntary Carbon Standard, which is being led by The Climate Group, International Emissions Trading Association and the World Economic Forum. All carbon offset certified to this standard will be assigned a unique serial number – further increasing the traceability of carbon by users.  Such functionality already exists or is being developed for both Plan Vivo and Gold Standard certified carbon credits.
