LEED Green Power Credits

In 2010 we successfully lead the effort to use carbon offsets to achieve Green Power Credits for LEED-NC (New Construction Certification) and since then have helped a growing number of project teams manage their carbon through this innovative approach.

We can help with achieving Green Power Credits for LEED 2009 and the Green Power and Carbon Offset credits that will be introduced with LEED 2012. The inclusion of offset credits under LEED 2012 provides LEED practitioners with the tools necessary to address the climate impacts of their projects. Carbon offsets are an efficient, robust and internationally recognised form of greenhouse gas reductions. They are additional, independently verified and tracked through registries. This gives project managers assurance that the emission reductions are real, measurable and permanent, have global benefit and can withstand stakeholder scrutiny. Alongside the emission reductions, carbon offsets can also facilitate sustainable development and poverty alleviation.
