As fourth generation coffee growers and roasters, Café Bom Dia’s entire business is inextricably linked to the environment. They know better than most how much we all depend on a healthy planet – and how a healthy planet depends on sustainable practices.

So they have made a major commitment to such practices by taking steps like converting roasting furnaces to cleanly burn wood from post-production coffee trees. It’s all so they can leave future generations a thriving company. And a thriving planet.

How The CarbonNeutral Company helped:

  • We conducted a greenhouse gas (GHG) assessment of all aspects of Café Bom Dia’s business operations, including energy use, travel and waste.
  • We advised Café Bom Dia on setting stretching internal reduction targets, which have delivered a 74% reduction in energy costs; a 64% reduction in water usage and an 87% reduction in waste sent to landfill.
  • We reduced Café Bom Dia’s unavoidable emissions using carbon offsets from our Unity project portfolio, verified to the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS).

Coffee growers

As a company which is dependent on nature to help grow our raw material, we witness first-hand the negative impacts of climate change. We are fully committed to sustainable business practices, such as reducing our carbon footprint, as a means to preserve the health of our environment for future generations.
