This project supports the construction of wind turbines at two sites in Turkey - Karakurt, located in theKirkagac region near Izmir, and Sebenoba, situated in the southern district of Hatay. The combined capacity of the two projects is 40.8MW.
The majority of Turkey’s electricity is generated using natural gas, coal or oil. Electricity generated via wind power displaces electricity from fossil fuel plants and so saves the associated CO2 emissions.
