What is AB 32?

The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, Assembly Bill 32 or AB 32, is a California State Law that tackles the challenge of greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on climate change by establishing strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the state of California. 

AB 32 requires the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to develop regulations and market mechanisms to reduce California’s greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020, representing a 25% reduction across the state. Mandatory caps will begin in 2012 for significant emissions sources. For more information visit Global Warming Solutions Act 2006
