The CarbonNeutral Protocol is the public standard to which we operate, and it describes the requirements for achieving the CarbonNeutral® brand mark – from carbon footprinting through reductions (including offsets) and communication. The Protocol is evolved through our Independent Advisory Group comprises of NGOs, scientists, academics and businesses.

Revisions to the CarbonNeutral Protocol

From time to time, following discussions with the IAG we make updates to the CNP. Where these updates occur outside the normal review cycle of the Protocol, we list them here together with their effective date pending a full update of the document.

Amendment April 2008: for the purpose of screening against the specific requirements set out in the CNP, VCU’s are given the same status as CERs
