Like so many great ideas, this one started with a blank page.
Arjowiggins came to the CarbonNeutral Company in 2007 with a challenge: could we help them reduce the carbon footprint associated with making and distributing their Conqueror brand of fine paper?
Indeed we could. Working closely with senior leadership (not to mention 8,000 committed employees), we showed them ways to not only reduce and offset their emissions, but how to use their paper to get customers, suppliers, and printers all thinking about ways to make a positive impact on their environment.
How The CarbonNeutral Company helped:
• We conducted a detailed product lifecycle greenhouse gas assessment for Conqueror paper, including raw material supply, production and distribution
• We helped the Conqueror team to set stretching targets for internal reductions and achieve a 5% reduction in carbon emissions over the last two years
• We offset the remaining emissions through a portfolio of innovative carbon reduction projects, including a methane capture project in Germany and renewable energy projects in India.
Making Conqueror CarbonNeutral® was an important step which enabled us to offer a truly environmental paper solution for businesses. The “Blank Sheet Project” received a fantastic response which highlights the recognition that customers have for the work of The CarbonNeutral Company and its ability to help businesses make positive environmental change to their operations.
